Walking Festival
The Stroud walking Festival offers a variety of walks for everyone, lasting three weeks. Explore valley, vale, hill, town, canal, river.
The first Stroud Walking Festival was held in 2007 and provided thirteen walks over a week long period. Since then it has gone from strength to strength. Last year it lasted just over two weeks with over thirty walks.
The Stroud Walking Festival will be launched at this year’s Stroud Festival of Nature on Saturday 7th September at Stratford Park. Visit the Walking Festival marquee to find out about the walks and put your name down.
The first walks will take place on Saturday 14th September and continue until the end of September and link to the annual Five Valleys Meningitus Walk. Many of the walks are led by qualified walk leaders and or representatives from local walking and countryside organisations. There are nature walks, art walks, mill walks and walks for the disabled.
.
Some are very short and flat, others take up a good part of the day and take in all the ups and downs of the landscape around Stroud
A landscape of far reaching views one minute, intimate little hidden corners the next.
There is a charge for some of the walks and some require advance notice of your attendance. Most are free and you can turn up on the day.
Details of walks are to follow here.
A full colour brochure will also be available.
